FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

A trial makeup session is a consultation and makeup application done with the bride or anyone unsure about how their event makeup will look. This meeting is an opportunity to discuss details such as colour preference and makeup style. This service is a separate price from your wedding day, $100 for a trial makeup session.  Lashes are $10 extra. Martha will review skin preparation and changes in regimen necessary to address any skin concerns. Allow 1-1.5 hours for this consultation and full makeup application to accommodate any changes to perfect the brides custom look. 

Please have a clean table or counter space available for makeup set up. Martha will require a power outlet for a light source. Please wear a wide neck top or a button shirt. On the day of application please have a clean face with no makeup, toned and a light moisturizer on your face. Purchase a lipstick of your chosen colour for touchups throughout the day. 

Reservations are made based on date availability.  Once a deposit is received and a contract signed your date and time are booked. We understand that plans may change. If Martha  is available for your rescheduled date, then your deposit will be transferred.  Otherwise, deposits are non-refundable.   The deposit is 50% and is required at the time of your booking. 

Martha primarily works on her own.  However, for larger parties or tight time constraints she may bring in an additional artist. Makeup application time is variable from person to person, please budget 60 minutes per face.

Semi-Permenant FAQ

Having your makeup done in advance can be reassuring so that you know it will be perfect for your big day.  It gives you the opportunity to bring up any skin or makeup concerns.  Booking the makeup trial 2 to 3 months in advance is recommended.  You could consider scheduling the makeup trial date to coincide with a special event such as your Social, engagement photos or bridal shower.   

Yes.  A facial treatment can be an ideal way to prepare your skin especially if you are not using a consistent skin care regimen.  Please schedule any facial or skin treatments at least 14 days before your booked makeup day to allow for any required healing time.

Martha accepts cash, e-transfer and square purchase” payment. 

Yes, Martha can cover small tattoos, blemishes or scars for an additional fee. Please notify in advance of these special requests.
